Back in 2004, World of Warcraft was set to start. This kid in my Freshman year Intro to HTML course tried pitching me, every single day, to play the game with him. He said it was likely to be the greatest video game of all time.
I hadn’t ever really played computer games, especially online ones–I was a console gamer, and adored my Xbox. I asked him exactly what it was going to be like, and he left the contrast to Everquest. The most important thing in the eyes of World of Warcraft game players is always to obtain WoWitems, if you are looking for more information about wow items for sale go here right away
About World of Warcraft
He said individuals committed their lives to it. He explained your guild became your loved ones. He said that a decade later, people still played with the same intensity they had 10 decades prior.
And then he said World of Warcraft was going to be that and much more.
I had an extremely difficult time understanding what he meant by that. I could not fathom making”friends” on the net. And that I had never played a single console sport for at least a year, maybe two. The notion of playing the same game for ten years was incomprehensible.
World of Warcraft’s 10 year anniversary was two years ago. And my accounts was still there, and that I logged online to play for a couple of weeks.
It’s been over a decade now since the game came out. And still, 10+ years later, I still stay in contact with a few of the individuals I met through this game. I still play the game whenever I feel the need to pop my head back in and say hello to this”alternative universe” that, in certain sense, raised me.
And I’m not the only one.
People still play World of Warcraft now since, not only can it be an incredible game, but the game retains emotional memories for each one of its players.
That game was I set some of my toughest goals–and reached them.
This game was where I met some of my closest friends.
That game was where I learned things about myself, my work ethic, my creativity, that I have since carried with me, and certainly will continue to take with me to the rest of my life.
Whenever someone attempts to”quit” playing World of Warcraft, it is said it isn’t the match they overlook, but the people.
People still play today because, in many ways, not to play could mean saying goodbye to many, many friends.
